hiking camelback

One of my favorite things about traveling to Arizona is that you can do as much or as little as you want – and it’s all right there close by. You can relax and lounge by the pool and sip cocktails all day, fit in some great shopping in the afternoon, go out to a super yummy dinner at night, and wake up early to kick off the day with a hike up Camelback Mountain – and you don’t have to travel far to enjoy any of it. My friend and I ended up squeezing in several hikes throughout the trip (and I’m going to be feeling it for a few days!) – and I ended up spending more time in my new workout gear from Old Navy than anything else. I love simple workout gear in bright colors – so I brought along this jacket for a layering piece, several of these comfy tanks, and a couple fun graphic tanks. They packed up in my carry on easily and kept me comfy + cool while exploring Camelback.

It’s the most wonderful time of year, particularly for dressing up. As a sparkle loving girl, it’s my favorite time of the year to get fancied up, as sequins need no reason to make an appearance during the holidays, day or night. I’m picky about sequin-covered things I buy though, as a poorly made sparkly item tends to fray and snag easily. I found this sequin dress at Old Navy recently, and am super impressed. It’s comfortable – which not all sequin dresses are, and the price can’t be beat, especially for the quality – it’s only $20! And these tights – they’re covered with sparkly polka dots…it’s the perfect marriage of two of my favorite things!

Sweater weather is in full force – and while I don’t hate the daily cozy clothing, I do miss the sunshine right about now. I’m not always a cardigan girl but when I found this (faux) leather trimmed one at Old Navy it had the perfect extra detail to make it not feel too plain. I’ve been pairing it over graphic tees, dresses, and just throwing it on over anything to add an extra warm layer to beat the chill.

For being such a fall and winter staple, sweaters can be a tricky thing. The wrong one can make you look bulky, or they are so thin they tear easily or can’t be worn on their own, or they shed and leave a mess everywhere you go. A couple weeks ago I loaded up during an Old Navy sale on a pile of fresh-for-fall sweaters, including this python printed gray one. I also got this striped one with elbow patches and a few basics in solid colors. They’re the perfect layering piece or great alone (or worn over a dress and under a vest!)
