dressed for fall

{dress and scarf: j crew, vest: old navy, leggings: h&m (great pair under $10 here), sunglasses: coach, purse: kate spade: boots: gifted matisse footwear}

I broke out the leggings this weekend and hardly took them off. They kept me comfy, cozy, and warm as the temps finally took a big dip. All of my boots, scarves, and fur vests are inching their way to the ends of my closet {where my most commonly worn items end up}, and I can’t wait to wear all 3 nonstop all season long.

turquoise pop

Great shoes, bags, and denim can all can be the solid foundation of an outfit, but it’s the jewelry that can really change a look. I’ve been wearing this J Crew bubble necklace weekly since I got it, and it will continue to be in heavy rotation for some time. I love the way the color pops against everything, the polka-dot-esque look to it, and maybe most of all, the way it jingles when I’m walking.

{pants: j crew minnie in vibrant flame, top: gap-old (similar here), bubble necklace: j crew, bracelets/watch: stella & dot, forever 21/michael kors, sunglasses: coach, flats: j crew (similar $12 version here), earrings: c/o tacori}

twirl

While I love my jeans – and the fact that I can wear them to work every day – I have always been more comfortable in skirts and dresses. I picked up this McGinn skirt last weekend in Dallas and couldn’t wait to wear twirl around in it. It’s girly shape, thick silky material, and messy print make it totally wearable year round – with tights or without.

{mcginn skirt, banana republic top, old navy jacket, cynthia rowley booties, coach purse, double hue tights}
*When wearing black tights, I almost always wear 2 pairs together – it makes them super black and keeps me warmer in the winter. I’m always on the hunt for a great new pair of black tights though – let me know if you have a favorite brand.
