One of my favorite things about traveling to Arizona is that you can do as much or as little as you want – and it’s all right there close by. You can relax and lounge by the pool and sip cocktails all day, fit in some great shopping in the afternoon, go out to a super yummy dinner at night, and wake up early to kick off the day with a hike up Camelback Mountain – and you don’t have to travel far to enjoy any of it. My friend and I ended up squeezing in several hikes throughout the trip (and I’m going to be feeling it for a few days!) – and I ended up spending more time in my new workout gear from Old Navy than anything else. I love simple workout gear in bright colors – so I brought along this jacket for a layering piece, several of these comfy tanks, and a couple fun graphic tanks. They packed up in my carry on easily and kept me comfy + cool while exploring Camelback.

Almost everyone I know is currently either sick with the flu, getting over the flu, or just starting to feel that feeling coming on. There’s nothing like being surrounded by sickness to make you feel extra motivated to stay extra healthy. Although in some ways it seems inevitable to get sick at some point this winter, I’m knocking on wood that the triple threat of eating well, working out, and plenty of sleep will fight off any illness that thinks it’s heading my way.

Speaking of working out, there’s nothing like new candy colored gym clothes to make the task a little bit more enjoyable. I loaded up on some pieces from the Old Navy active line (where everything is 40% off until Wednesday!) The moisture wicking fabric was most helpful as I sweated my way through the most intense but exhilarating yoga class I’ve ever taken yesterday. Besides a little downward dog, this weekend I had my work holiday party where I finally got to break out my vintage sequin maxi skirt, and brunched with friends followed by a little neighborhood shopping where I treated myself to a new Mason Pearson comb at Eden. {who knew I could get so excited over a comb? I’m already thinking the brush may be next…}

How are you staying healthy in the new year? (and avoiding the dreaded flu!)
