I love my bright colored and fur covered coats, but the black winter coat is a ultimate winter essential. It can be dressed up or down, worn during the days, nights, and weekends, and can make any ensemble immensely nicer. I’ve found it so useful that over the past few years I’ve acquired a couple several. When you can buy something that never looks dated year after year, I’d say it’s worth investing in.

it is SUCH an essential. i had a freakout at the beginning of winter when i realized i somehow didn’t have a black coat so i ran out and got one.
seriously you couldn’t be more right! i’ve been on the hunt for the perfect peacoat and still have not found it. you look great in both outfits but i’m especially loving that black peacoat in outfit 2. the asymmetrical edges and collar are so unique!
Love your blog and I, too, love my LBC! I can’t get through a NYC winter without it. I love that look in the bottom photo!
