polka dots, mary janes, and leopard

matisse1

For a girl who loves her heels and sparkle, I stayed away from both when it came to designing a shoe collection with Matisse. I wanted to create shoes that anyone could wear (not just a sparkly loving gal like myself) – regardless of what you do, where you live, or how old you are.

I couldn’t be more appreciative of the kind feedback I’ve heard from people regarding the shoes, and am excited to share a little behind the scenes video we created last summer when I was out at the Matisse showroom in California. 4 more of the styles are out now; you can find the yellow polka dot ones here, the leopard print with a mary-jane strap here, the silver mary-janes here, and the gray chevron flats here.

Thanks to another little snow storm last week, I’m more than ready for everything spring-y. Ever since skinny jeans were available everywhere {you remember the days when it was nothing but flare and bootcut} – I’ve always preferred my blue jeans as dark as I could find them, but this season around I’m feeling the lighter shades. I picked up this pair of Gap skimmers after I lived in my camo ones the first few days I had them, and they’ve been on heavy rotation since.

Clearly I’m having a moment with camo, so when I saw this Gap for GQ Todd Snyder tee a few months back I had to make it mine. Forget that it’s meant for the boys – some of my best finds lately are from the men’s department. I just go with a size or two down from my regular fit, or with this tee I just knotted it up a bit. Anyway – no one’s going to question if you’re wearing mens shirts as long as you pair it with the girliest of skirts. Speaking of – this skirt is a true testament to always purchasing what you love – I wore this crinkly Ralph Lauren skirt to my junior year prom {and I recently had my 10 year class reunion…}!
