{gifted Old Navy micro performance fleece jacket, compression leggings, rib-knit tank}
Almost everyone I know is currently either sick with the flu, getting over the flu, or just starting to feel that feeling coming on. There’s nothing like being surrounded by sickness to make you feel extra motivated to stay extra healthy. Although in some ways it seems inevitable to get sick at some point this winter, I’m knocking on wood that the triple threat of eating well, working out, and plenty of sleep will fight off any illness that thinks it’s heading my way.
Speaking of working out, there’s nothing like new candy colored gym clothes to make the task a little bit more enjoyable. I loaded up on some pieces from the Old Navy active line (where everything is 40% off until Wednesday!) The moisture wicking fabric was most helpful as I sweated my way through the most intense but exhilarating yoga class I’ve ever taken yesterday. Besides a little downward dog, this weekend I had my work holiday party where I finally got to break out my vintage sequin maxi skirt, and brunched with friends followed by a little neighborhood shopping where I treated myself to a new Mason Pearson comb at Eden. {who knew I could get so excited over a comb? I’m already thinking the brush may be next…}
How are you staying healthy in the new year? (and avoiding the dreaded flu!)

I have been seeing/hearing so much about all of Old Navy’s active wear lately! They are having a sale right now too! Might have to jump on the bandwagon and get a few staple pieces- definitely more reasonably priced than lululemon!
LOVE THE VINTAGE SKIRT! Whenever I feel a sickness coming on, I load up on the wheatgrass shots:)
This is the single greatest thing you can do for your body when you’ve got the flu. By sleeping, you appropriate resources unconsciously to fighting the illness that you cannot delegate even when resting. Your body’s autonomous functions are at their all-time low when sleeping so your immune system will be at peak performance when you’re getting shut-eye. In addition to giving your immune system extra resources, sleep has the distinct advantage of letting you pass through your illness without even realizing that you’re sick. While sleeping you’ll also be sweating: this will also help in relieving you of the flu.
