the leather dress

{leather dress worn as a skirt: gap (old), sweater: j crew, leggings: h&m, boots: gifted matisse, purse and watch: kate spade, bracelet: gifted sequin nyc}

I’ve always loved a good multi-tasking piece of clothing, and I’m happy to say that lately my leather shift dress has been just that. Layered with a sweater on top and leggings underneath, I stayed warm and cozy all day while the weather was turning cold. Last seen here, it’s going to get some serious wear all season year long.

Thoughts and prayers going out to all my friends and family in NYC and all through the East Coast. The coverage is heartbreaking and we are thinking of you all.

 I’ve been on a serious hunt for some new denim lately, and I’m more torn than ever about what sort of pair to add to my collection next. My current go-to’s are my Gap skinnies and Paige boyfriends, and I’ve decided to halt my colored denim buying spree for a bit until another classic pair finds it’s way into my closet first. There’s few things I don’t enjoy shopping for, but denim is pretty close to the top. Different brands stretch different ways, some get worn in better than others, and sizes are all across the board depending on the manufacturer. Give me your best denim tip – what are your go-to jeans?

todd snyder + badowers

{sweater, skirt, tights: H&M, shoes: gifted matisse, (available spring 2013)  bag: marc by marc jacobs, jacket: old navy}

In perfect timing with the abrupt switch to full-on autumn weather, last night I attended the fall launch party for Todd Snyder at Badower’s. Snyder – a former designer for J Crew who now designs and shows his own line at New York Fashion Week – is also currently 1 of 6 of designers chosen to be part of the Gap X GQ collection.

I embraced the cold weather with the first pair of tights of the season, paired with my metallic Matisse mary-janes – another sneak peek at one of the pairs I designed for Matisse Footwear’s spring 2013 line. Although the shoes won’t be available until early next year, I can’t wait to share a few more looks before then.
