There’s something about getting out of town – even if it’s not that far away – that puts every sense into vacation mode. I settled quite well into it this past weekend thanks to afternoon sangrias on a rooftop patio, ordering apple pie via room service, and shopping as if I hadn’t been to a store in years. Memorial Day weekend always seems to be the official start of summer, and I couldn’t be happier my favorite season is here.

I agree. I love mini getaways more than planned vacations with great distance. It’s the quickest, most refreshing, and at times relaxing way to get myself back on track and refocused.
