In this edition of ‘must or lust,’ I had to showcase the newest addition to my skirt collection. I spotted this river island polka dot pencil skirt on Asos awhile back and it was instantly in my cart. The second it arrived I knew I’d made a good purchase, but it was confirmed even more when I spotted this identical version by Prabal Gurung. See the last ‘must or lust’ black sandals post here.
I’m all about multitasking, especially when it comes to my clothes. This simple (and supremely soft) tank dress is part of the Loomstate 321 collection, meaning there are 3 ways to wear 1 dress. It’s not only reversible, but can literally be worn backwards (without seeming to appear that way!) I first wore it out for a casual after work drink but am looking forward to flipping it around and dressing it up.
There’s something about getting out of town – even if it’s not that far away – that puts every sense into vacation mode. I settled quite well into it this past weekend thanks to afternoon sangrias on a rooftop patio, ordering apple pie via room service, and shopping as if I hadn’t been to a store in years. Memorial Day weekend always seems to be the official start of summer, and I couldn’t be happier my favorite season is here.
When Kiley asked me to write a guest post, I thought about something sparkly and shimmery and, well, sequin-y. But, then I thought that might be a tad bit, shall I say, cliché? So today I’m here to talk to you about a trend I can’t get enough of (and I know you can’t either, ‘fess up!): colored denim. While I just wrote an entire post on colored denim for spring over on I Heart Heels, this one’s for when it really starts to heat up this summer. Drumroll, please. Shorts!
I know, I know. As if you weren’t being brave enough already with the whole colored theme. Then, I have to introduce the shorts. Yikes, I know. But, how fun are these shorts from Genetic Denim (and you can pair them with the typical blue denim you already have in your closet – shirts, jackets, etc.). I’m loving them all – from lilac and teal to coral (my personal fav). And if you just can’t manage the color, Genetic has tons of styles in your average blue denim wash as well. (Pardon me, but shall I say snoozeville?) I think bright colors are almost as fun as sequins! (almost)
