In college I bought the most beautiful pair of BCBG leopard heels. They were perfect in every way, and one fateful night a couple years back I experienced my first ever heel break. Brokenhearted, I went to one shoe repair shop after another for about 6 months, before coming to terms with the fact that no one could fix my leopard loves. I’ve been on the hunt for a replacement ever since, and when I spotted (no pun intended) these beauties earlier this week while browsing around Bop boutique, I knew the void had been filled.
When I first spotted these J brand cutoff shorts in a rainbow of colors I felt like a kid in a candy store. How could I choose just one? I want every single one in my closet…right now. Summer only graces us with her presence for a few delightful months each year, and these shorts seem like the perfect way to soak up the season. Now back to deciding on a color…which would you pick?
I kicked off the first official weekend of summer by relaxing, boating, and sipping margaritas all weekend long at a beautiful lake home in Oklahoma. Highlights included amazing food like the tomato cheese torte we feasted on, lounging by the pool overlooking the lake catching up on magazines, spotting a man riding a wave runner with his dog (a huge yellow lab..it was a site to see), and boating to lunch on the lake for grilled fish sandwiches and arnold palmer cocktails. The majority of my weekend at the lake was spent in my swimsuit, romper, flip flops, and sunnies…which is my definition of a perfect midwest summer weekend.
Summer dressing should be easy, but lately our fickle weather is making it much more difficult than it should be. Recently I’ve found myself reaching for more typically ‘cold weather’ apparel than I would like…as the rain, wind, and sun can come and go in an instant-leaving me either sweating or shivering. While I’m still crushing on all of these summery lovelies, I’m still trying to follow my resolution of maximizing my wardrobe year round. Here are some goodies that although maybe not your typical summer wear, I’m quite sure I’d get heavy use out of each one all summer long and beyond. Any of these can be paired with a tank and shorts or a sweater and jeans…and of course anything that helps me stick to my New Years resolutions halfway through the year should be a guilt free purchase, no?
