happy halloween

Every year right around now, I get nostalgic about Halloweens past and how much fun it was to choose a costume and get loads of candy that would last until…well, almost Easter. I have no big plans for this year’s Halloween, but have gotten in the mood nontheless through spooky (but glittery) decor on my office desk…

…eating loads of Halloween food such as pumpkin pie and candy corn and peanuts

…and carving pumpkins with my nephews!

Have a Happy Halloween! What are you dressing up as this year?

long sleeved minis

I am so enamored with long sleeve dresses right now-specifically, dressy party ones. While there’s nothing cozier on a cool dreary day than an oversized sweater dress, the long sleeve mini dresses take it up a notch and are perfect to wear out at night when the sweater dress is a bit too casual. They are the perfect transitional piece as they can be worn with bare legs when the weather is still being kind, add tights when it turns a bit chilly, and add a faux fur coat or vest on top of it when it’s freezing out. They can be dressed up with heels, look amazing with over the knee boots, and perfectly appropriate with some dressy flats. I already have a couple I love, the blue one I wore during NYFW, and this black and white one I got from Zara a few years back.

I am itching to add more to my closet, and I’d be ecstatic to own any (ok-all!) of the following…

topshop, knitted leopard dress, $90

urbanoutfitters.com, tba effie pom pom dress, $240

milly, bridget dress, $395

wyatt, blackberry jersey embellished shoulder dress, $88

pumpkin time

Halloween is only 4 days away, but like so many seasonal foods I plan on keeping pumpkin around for as long as I can. Already in the past few weeks I’ve made pumpkin cupcakes, roasted pumpkin seeds, and mini pumpkin pies, but here are a few other pumpkin recipes I’ve been salivating over from other food-appreciating bloggers

Pumpkin fudge from Sterling Style

Pumpkin Whoopie Pies from See Jane

Pumpkin Brittle from Cupcakes and Cashmere

ok…and I also wouldn’t mind trying a pumpkin shake, pumpkin cookies with brown butter icing, and of course, a marshmallow pumpkin pie. Deeeelish! Any pumpkin treats you’d like to share? What is your favorite seasonal treat?
