Easter is the first holiday of the year that allows you to recognize that spring is finally here! This delectable holiday always makes me think spending time with family, Easter egg hunts, new pretty pastel dresses, and lots of chocolate.
Over the past few years I have heard of countless crazy peep stories from my fellow sugar coated marshmallow fans. Who would have guessed there is a whole WORLD of peep obsessed fanatics? There is the annual ‘Peep Show’ put on by the Washington Post where people create artwork entirely made of Peeps! There is also the actual official Peep website where you can find recipes, craft ideas, and the newest Peep products-which this year includes chocolate covered Peeps and Peeps Ice-some kind of new custard and Peep ice creamy concoction! mmmmmmmmmm!!
My contribution to this years Easter family dinner was some delicious bite sized cupcakes! I knew I’d be spending some serious time decorating these babies, so I used a box cake mix and spent the majority of baking time spreading frosting and covering in sprinkles. What was supposed to be a fun little baking project turned out to consume an entire evening, but these sparkly little jewels were well worth it.
Hoppy Easter!

LOVE the cupcakes! I always have that problem where my kitchen adventures end up taking way longer than expected.
Thanks! Fortunately, adventures in the kitchen that last waaay longer than they should usually turn out to be well worth it.
